Can I purchase a ticket in person?
Tickets will be sold online only. There will be no tickets sold at the Railway.

When do tickets go on sale?
Tickets go on sale the at midday two days before each public running day. Buy tickets

How many people can fit into a carriage?
Due to social distancing requirements, only 4 people can fit into each carriage. Children under 2 years are excluded from this total.

Why are groups limited to four people?
This is the largest number of people we can fit in each carriage, whilst maintaining social distancing between each group.

What if I have more than four people in my group?
Please purchase two or more tickets. Due to the length of individual carriages, you will be seated in two separate carriages.

I have a large group (16+ people). How should I book?
We recommend contacting our Booking Officer to request a booking from Pine Creek Station, which is only a three-minute walk from our main station. Click here for further information.

If I book a ticket for two people, will other people from another group be put into the vacant space to fill it up?
No, you will have the space exclusively for the two people on your ticket with a 1.5m gap between ajoining groups.

What if I purchased tickets prior to the Railway’s closure?
At present, we are unable to accept paper tickets that you may have purchase before we closed. We will advise when paper tickets will be accepted once more.

What if I have a Family Pass?
At present, we are not accepting Family Passes. The expiration date on all Family Passes will be extended so that, when we recommence acceptance of paper tickets, your Pass remains valid.

Can I ride if I have mobility difficulties?
Yes, DVR will continue to offer carriages that allow ease of access. Please let us know by purchasing a ‘accessible carriage’ ticket.

Can I book a special booking?
Bookings are open for the month of January. These are limited to 95 people, as per the government restrictions, and will only be available from Pine Creek and Jack Tatum Memorial Picnic Site. Each train can only hold 16 people per trip.

Do I need to wear a mask?
Passengers must wear a mask when stipulated by the Victorian Government. Wearing a mask in the queue, where social distancing cannot be maintained, before boarding is strongly recommended

What COVIDSafe measures have you implemented?

  • All tickets will be sold online
  • Social distancing between groups will be facilitated in the queue and on trains
  • A numbers cap has been applied to each session time
  • Carriages will be cleaned with TGA-approved disinfectants after each journey
  • Contact details will be collected for all passengers in the event that contact tracing needs to occur
  • Hand sanitiser will be available before your journey
  • All volunteers and passengers will wear a mask in accordance with government regulations
  • Volunteers will complete a health checklist prior to their shift
