Meadmore Junction SignalBox.
|
The new Signal Control Tower at Meadmore
Junction was built in 1996 to replace the old Meadmore Junction "A" signalbox
that was in 1970. The signalbox has (2) two signal control panels, one
for the control of the Meadmore Junction and Triangle Junction areas, the
other for the remote control of the Pine Creek Crossing Loop and Station.
All signals are Three Position light signals
(either 3 light or Searchlight) with the introduction of Upper Quadrant
Signalling at Meadmore Junction being planned.
The Signal Control panels were relocated
from the old signalbox in October 1996 and "plugged" into the interlocking
just before the 1996 Christmas Rush. In the near future both control panels
will be replaced with a single modern control panel.

Meadmore Junction Control Panel.
This Signal Control Panel was installed
at Meadmore Junction in 1978 to control the new light signalling that had
been installed with the new crossing loop. The S.C.P was housed in the old Signalbox with its
relay interlocking until 1995, when the panel was relocated to then New
Signalbox and is now awaiting replacement.
The diagram is a "failsafe" indication type, where if the Track Circuit is illuminated, then the track
section is clear. An extinguished indicator, will normally indicate the
presence of a train.
The Panel incorporates two Closing levers
for both the Meadmore Junction and Triangle Junction areas, and can be
placed into Automatic operation when not required for Special train Movements.
