Location
  • DVR is a Miniature Railway located in Australia, in the state of Victoria.
  • In Victoria you will find DVR in Eltham, a North Eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
  • DVR is in the Eltham Lower Park, on the left as you drive in the main entrance.

How to get to DVR

See the location full size DVR is about 40 minutes driving time from the city. You can take the Eastern Freeway and get off at Bulleen Rod ext, heading through Templestowe and following the signs to Elthan. Or one could come via the Metropolitan Ring Road into Greensborough and follw the signs to Eltham.

DVR is about 40 minutes walking from Eltham Station, which is on the Hursbridge Line. There is a bike path connecting DVR to Eltham. See: http://www.we-love-melbourne.net/melbourne-bike-paths.html

Public Transport to Diamond Valley Railway:

If travelling via public transport to DVR, you will need a Sunday all day ticket which cost around $3.20 each. Or you can use your MYKI Card. The best option is for you to catch a train from Flinders Street going to Hurtsbridge or Eltham, and get off at Eltham. From the car park in Eltham at the bus interchange you can catch the following busses which will drop you off at the gate near our Pine Creek Station, then it is only a short walk to our main station at Diamond Valley.

From Eltham, Route: 513 Eltham to Glenroy:
This bus runs every hour and you must make sure you are on the bus that runs via Lower Plenty. (Main Road).

Route: 902 Airport West to Chelsa
(Greensborough or Eltham Station’s) this bus runs every 30mins you need to be on the bus heading towards Chelsea. (note both Airport West and Chelsea busses use the same bus stop, so make sure you board the bus that says "Chelsea"

Both these busses will drop you at the same location near Pine Creek Station. And take about 5-10mins to get to the railway

Eastern Melbourne
If you are on the Eastern side of the city Glen Waverley, Doncaster and Ringwood areas, you can catch the 902 bus from either Glen Waverley or Nunawading railway station this bus will drop u near the flower stand opposite DVR.

A third bus also runs from Ringwood Station, this is the 901 from Frankston to the Airport (Tullamarine). This bus will also stop at Blackburn station, and will turn left at Main road and drop you off on the corner of Bolton Street and Main Road, DVR is a short walk back from this stop.
