43rd Corroboree/Birthday Weekend

Diamond Valley Railway celebrated it's 43rd Birthday with a Corroborree which was basically a fun run and a open track for all to enjoy. It wasn't a pure invitational run, so we really did not know who or if any locos would turn up.

We were plesently surprised with all the visiting locos that did turn up. And a lot more people turned up as well. It made for a classic busy weekend. Compared to last years where we only had one visitng loco in the rain, this years caught us napping. "B" Box was overrun- I hope the signalmen are still recovering and will return to DVR !

The day was overcast and tried to rain but didn't succeed. That night we had a slapon BBQ ( it was put together with no formal organising ( last years just happened) - this time with all the people we undercatered - and there was two dashes to the local shops for more.

The night running was well attended as well. Three locos stayed back to run all day Sunday as well. That was a bonus as they fitted in well. It was a weekend that I'm still trying to catch up with normal things.

To all who came - we hope you had a good time ! AND COME AGAIN !!!
