Model of a K36 class locomotive once used on the narrow (3ft.) gauge section
of the Denver & Rio Grande Railway's system in Colorado, U.S.A. These emgines
were in fact converted from standard gauge and were consequently very large for
the narrow gauge. Built to a scale of 3" to 1ft the model is impressive in terms
both of size and performance. It is worth noting that the engine's suspension is
equalised from the leading truck throught to the trailing truck. Engine brakes are
vacumn-hydraulic and those on the tender, vacumn-mechanical, vacumn being obtained
by means of a steam ejector. A steam operated bell is also fitted. The large tender
carries 136 litres ( 30 gallons ) of water.
