This loco was originally built in about 6 weeks to allow it's original owner to operate his miniature railway.
Based loosely on the New South Wales Government Railway (SRA) 81 class Diesal Electric.
The locomotive is fitted with an air brake ( for parking ).An horn is fitted.
Originally painted in the distict and colourful livery of the Bicentennial colour sckeme, the colour of this
loco will change in the next few years.
This loco was purchased by Peter Meyer who embarked on almost a total rebuild. Originally it was powering only one bogie. Peter beefed up the bogies and made it possible to power both bogies. A new engine was used int he rebuild as well. In 2007 it was purchased by DVR. |
