Special Train Hire Information.
Social Clubs, Party Groups, Schools, Kindergartens etc, may arrange
to book the D.V.R Picnic Site, and/or a Special Train for their
exclusive use on certain days, with charges based on a minimum
hire period as set out below.
SPECIAL TRAIN HIRE:
- Special Trains for the exclusive use of your group may be hired from any of our Stations for a minimum period of ONE HOUR with extensions of thirty minutes or more, between the hours of 11.00am and 5.00pm on Sundays, and most Public Holidays (See Operating Times).
- Trains hold approx. 30 persons and we guarantee 6 short or 4 normal trips per hour.
We can provide transport for YOUR SANTA to either Meadmore Junction Station or Pine Creek Station
at no additional charge.

THE JACK TATUM MEMORIAL. PICNIC SITE:
- This area may be hired on Sundays and most Public Holidays (See Operating Times) for a fee.
- Your group will have exclusive use of this area within the railways property, which is fenced, and all trains
operating run past this site. The picnic site is equipped with a limited number of tables and seats, a gas fired BBQ (fuel supplied), water, electricity and the Meadmore Junction Station Platform.
- Children to be properly supervised at all times, and any damage to the property to be made good by the hirer
- A MAXIMUM of two (2) motor vehicles will be allowed into the hired area.
- The Railway has the right to use the Station Platform at any time outside the agreed Special Train Hiring times.
All JACK TATUM MEMORIAL. PICNIC SITE bookings must include
a minimum one hour Special Train Hire.
PINE CREEK:
- This area is controlled by the shire of Nillumbik and is available to the Public free of charge.
- Bookings can be made-for Special Hire Trains to operate from the Pine Creek Platform.Pine Creek has a picnic area complete with electric BBQ and rotunda. There is also a BBQ near the play equipment to your right as you enter the park
Bookings cannot be taken for the picnic sites in this area.
PAYMENT FOR SERVICES REQUESTED:
- A deposit is required for the Jack Tatum Picnic site booking, The cost of hiring the Jack Tatum Picnic site is $100.00 for the day, $50.00 of this is a bond that will be refunded,
providing the area is left in a clean condition, and any rubbish is taken away. (Prices subject to change.)
- A deposit is required far a Pine Creek train booking.
- The cost of hiring a special train is $300.00 per. Hr. and $150.00 for each additional half hour.
Groups will get four trips around the system in the hour.
- Final payment mast be made 7 DAYS prior to the booking date. All cheques are to made payable to the
DIAMOND VALLEY RAILWAY Inc. and forwarded to the above address.
